Sussex Young Folk Award WINNERS 2013

So we were crowned the winners of the Sussex Young Folk Award for 2013 and took home a lovely new guitar as a prize AND were MAIN support for Show of Hands

“Aimée Mackenzie with younger sister Freya and brother Ross are undoubtedly hugely talented folk and acoustic musicians. They performed at the Southdowns Folk Festival in Bognor Regis in September 2013 and literally brought the house down. They deservedly won the Sussex Young Folk Performers Competition and then went on later to wow the audience at the Alexandra Theatre, receiving as well fantastic praise from Steve Knightley from Show of Hands who were headlining that night. Their music is fresh, original and performed with great skill and competence – they will go a long way” – Roger Nash – Southdowns Folk Festival

We were MAIN support for Show of Hands at Southdowns Folk Festival

Steve had this to say about us:-
“Songwriting and musicianship of the highest calibre and harmonising together as only siblings can. Just about the best young English acoustic band I’ve heard” – Steve Knightley (Show Of Hands)

My track “So…” recorded live on air at Brooklands Radio by David Durant is featured on this compilation album. It would be awesome if you could support me, Brooklands Radio and all these other fine artists by downloading a copy of the album. (Click the image on the right!)

You never know, you might even find some new music that you love from an artist you’ve never come across before!! How exciting is that!! :) x
